Whin Rigg is a
comfortable, personally managed, split-level detached home, ideal as
self-catering accommodation for up to eight people. It carries a 4 Star,
English Tourism Council quality standard, and is situated in half an acre of
natural gardens, in a quiet and secluded part of the village of Eskdale Green,
away from the main road. It is however only 200m from the Eskdale Store, which
is well stocked with produce and combines the Post Office and Outdoor Clothing
shop.

You will find Whin Rigg "home
away from home" having central heating throughout and a spacious and
comfortable lounge with colour TV, video, radio and hi-fi system. A log fire
may be lit to give a cottage atmosphere and cheer up the evenings in the cooler
months - a nice thought after a day on the fells in the fresh air.

There is also a separate lounge with
books and games or for those wanting to escape the 'box' - superb
as a base for the children. An open plan dining room and downstairs
toilet is available, along with a modern fitted kitchen having cooker,
microwave, washing machine, fridge, dishwasher and a comprehensive
set of self-catering equipment. There are areas for drying outdoor
clothing and boots.
Upstairs you will find a newly refurbished bathroom with toilet, washbasin
and bath with shower above. There are four bedrooms, all of which
have ample wardrobe or storage space. One of the two double-bedded
rooms has its own luxury en-suite shower room, basin and toilet. The
third room is a twin with two single beds and the fourth has bunk
beds. A cot is available as required for small children along with
stair gates to protect the little ones. Duvets, covers, pillows and
all bed linen is provided along with bathroom hand towels. Electricity,
heating oil and logs for the fire are all included in the rental charge
- there is nothing more to pay. There is private parking for three
cars with more available close by.
The garden is child friendly and is for the exclusive use of guests.
It is ideal for absorbing the magnificent views over Muncaster Fell.
A patio area and barbecue is available for summer evening feasts.
For those wanting to occasionally eat out, our local pubs - King George
IV and Bower House - are both a pleasant 10 minute walk away and serve
excellent and modestly priced meals in the bar or superb specialities
in the restaurant. Alternatively there are many other places serving
good food within a 10 minute drive.
We personally clean Whin Rigg between lets and we want you to arrive
finding it spick and span. You will understand therefore that we are
unable to accept pets and that our 'no smoking in the house' policy
should be observed.
Weekly rates (Saturday to Saturday) vary from £250 low season
to £450 - £720 high season. We also make discounts for
small groups - please complete our email enquiry form for availability
and a specific price. Short breaks (3 to 5 days) are available at
certain times of the year.
